What we are looking for:

Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Global Head of Financial Planning and Analysis, the Director, Financial Planning and Analysis will be responsible for enterprise level processes including budgeting, forecasting, annual business planning, as well the associated consolidated analytics and reporting. Leading a team of 2 direct reports, the Director, Financial Planning and Analysis will coach and develop employees. The individual will be required to produce business analytics and insights that communicate a concise and compelling narrative to support decision making by Fiera Executives and inform Board level stakeholders. The role is based in Toronto. Travel will be required to Montreal (Head office).

Your responsibilities:

  • Develop key enterprise level processes including multi-year financial plans and projections of assets under management, scenario analysis, annual business planning and budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and consolidated management reporting
  • Establish a centre of expertise to strengthen financial planning and analysis across the enterprise
  • Consolidation and analysis of the company’s business plans, budgets, and quarterly forecasts
  • Develop timely, accurate, and insightful analytics and key performance measures
  • Transform analysis into concise executive management level dashboards and presentations that support informed decision making at the enterprise and business unit level, as well as presentations to inform the Board of Directors
  • Drive continuous process improvements that creates efficiency and effectiveness both within the team and across the organization, while not sacrificing controls or governance
  • Provide leadership, coaching and mentorship to direct reports and indirectly across the organization through their interactions
  • Review and ensure accuracy of management reporting and assist with the review of documents, such as MD&As and press releases
  • Special projects as required

Must have requirements to be successful in this role:

  • CFA or MBA or CPA
  • University degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Minimum of 10 years of management experience in an asset management firm, bank, or insurance company with investment platforms
  • Exceptional written skills and ability to develop executive level presentations for the C-Suite and Board of Directors
  • Experience with implementations of enterprise level forecasting, budgeting, and business intelligence solutions
  • Demonstrated ability developing and implementing executive level dashboards, and key performance metrics
  • Strong change management and influencing skills
  • Excellent project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deliverables concurrently
  • Drive for continuous improvement, leveraging, and adapting system functionality and challenging existing processes
  • Strong strategic skills, including the ability to leverage resources (people, processes, departments, tools), and collaborate to complete objectives effectively and efficiently
  • Exceptional analytical skills
  • Strong decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to interact with all levels of the organization confidently and effectively, and to build strong working relationships in a team-oriented, deadline driven environment
  • Ability to independently gather, formulate, and analyze data to support recommendations to senior management
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, and PowerPoint
