Certified Electrician – Relocation support provided
Slave Lake, Alberta

Our Certified Electricians do more than keep the lights on – they play a key role in keeping our electrical equipment, controls and business running safely and reliably. Masters of their craft, our Electricians are invaluable when it comes to ensuring our equipment and teams are set up for success. If this sounds like the fit you’ve been waiting for, read on to learn more!

We’re looking for a Red Seal Electrician to join our Athabasca OSB division, located in Slave Lake. This state-of-the-art facility has the longest continuous press in North America, giving us the ability to produce a diverse range of innovative forest products for customers around the world.

As an ideal candidate you are experienced in your trade and hold a valid Interprovincial ticket. You are known for your problem solving skills and know your way around Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) - preferably JD Edwards. You’re a great communicator, able to work independently, and are a strong contributor to a high-performance team. Comfort in using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook is considered an asset. Have previous experience in a forest products environment? That’s a bonus too!

Your ideal workday will look something like this:

  • You will apply your knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Human Machine Interface (HMI) systems to troubleshoot electrical issues and come up with safe, reliable fixes.
  • You will use your broad electrical experience to do preventative maintenance as well as installations and upgrades, working on a variety of motors, hydraulic motion controls, optimizers and encoders...just to name a few.
  • You will use your passion for continuously improving equipment reliability to come up with solutions that keep our industrial electrical equipment and controls repaired and maintained.
  • You will apply your organizational and planning skills to carry out maintenance projects and programs.

We value diversity at Tolko and respect that experience and knowledge come in many forms. Even if you don't think you check every box, please apply. We would love to hear your story and have you grow with us.

So, what’s in it for you?

  • You’ll take on an exciting new challenge with supportive team members.
  • You will earn a competitive wage at $48.00/hour to start.
  • You’ll receive an additional prairie location payment and a trades retention bonus on top of your base pay.
  • You will be eligible to participate in Tolko’s bonus program.
  • Competitive benefits and retirement plans come standard, so you don’t have to choose between your bottom line and your wellbeing or your future.
  • Relocation support including community connections so you can live (and play) where you work.
  • Continued development through on the job and classroom training.
  • A positive, innovative, and inclusive work environment.

If you want to work in a sustainable, future focused industry, there is no better place than Tolko. Our family has been producing innovative forest products for over 65 years. Our focus remains on sustainably managing our forests and our business for upcoming generations.
