True Key Hotels & Resorts proudly manages Nootka Marine Adventures at the Moutcha Bay Resort, located at the mouth of the Conuma River just 40 minutes west of Gold River, in the beautiful sheltered waters of Nootka Sound, BC. It is easily accessible by car, float plane or boat. Moutcha Bay Resort provides a unique collection of wilderness accommodation, adventure products and services not otherwise found in our region, such as guided fishing, wildlife tours, kayak tours, boat & equipment rentals, and an onsite full-service restaurant. Visitors find the drive with the beautiful lake and forest scenery an added bonus.

This position is available for Moutcha Bay Resort.

Start date - immediate

End date - September 30, 2021

This position requires:

  • Attention to detail.
  • A service driven individual dedicated to the guest experience and with the ability to learn quickly.
  • Minimum of 2 years of kitchen experience.
  • Accuracy and speed under high pressure and time constraints.
  • An individual with strong organization and interpersonal skills.
  • Food Safe and WHMIS certified.
  • Degree in Culinary Science or related certificate(s) preferred.


    Position Responsibilities:

    • Adhere to the policies set out by the code of conduct.
    • Actively promote Nootka Marine Adventures and its affiliates while contributing to stellar operation and financial responsibility through value and loyalty.
    • Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies.
    • Ensure that food is prepared quickly and efficiently; ensure that all items will be prepared at the correct time.
    • Listen for, follow and call back all of the Chef’s instructions to ensure understanding.
    • Aid in achieving food cost target by reducing waste and following standards.
    • Ensure any anticipated issues are communicated to the supervisor/manager.
    • Ensure production, preparation and presentation is of the highest quality at all times.
    • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and guests.
    • Encourage and help foster skill development within the kitchen team.
    • Assist Sous Chef in training kitchen staff.
    • Assist Sous Chef with monthly inventory.
    • Supervise line when needed.
    • Maintain the highest sanitary standards.
    • Adhere to Health & Safety policies and regulations.
    • Label, date and refrigerate all unused food products as appropriate.
    • In proper uniform and meet personal grooming and appearance standards.
    • Keep the kitchen clean as you work.
    • Ensure all duties are complete and check in with supervisor before leaving shift.
    • Use FIFO (first in, first out) method when taking or replacing any food items.
    • Pick up any debris or litter laying around property and common areas.
    • Report all incidents and/or injuries immediately.
    • Adhere to the TKHR Vehicle/Vessel Usage Policy.
