It is easily accessible by car, float plane or boat. Moutcha Bay Resort provides a unique collection of wilderness accommodation, adventure products and services not otherwise found in our region, such as guided fishing, wildlife tours, kayak tours, boat & equipment rentals, and an onsite full-service restaurant. Fish Processors are part of our dynamic Marine Operations team and are integral to delivering an exceptional guest experience. This position requires a motivated team player with a commitment to detail, sanitation standards, respectful communication and professionalism. You can expect a fun, fast paced work environment on our beautiful and wild west coast.

This position is available for Moutcha Bay Resort.

Anticipated start date: May 1st - July 1st
Anticipated end date: August 31st - September 30th

The position requirements include and are not limited to:

  • A service driven individual dedicated to the guest experience and cleanliness
  • An attention to detail and a commitment to safety, sanitation, and professionalism
  • Proficiency with filleting salmon and bottom fish
  • Familiarity with Fisheries and Oceans Canada recreational fishing regulations
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision
  • Physical ability to lift 50lbs
  • Physical ability to work while walking and standing for prolonged periods
  • A dynamic team player
  • Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
  • Food Safe Level 1

The duties of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Be thoroughly versed in Fisheries and Ocean’s Canada Area 25/125 fishing regulations, boundaries, and species size and quantity limits
  • Assist guests in filling out processing forms including St. Jeans forms, communicating relevant details about processing options
  • Collect guest information and enter it into the computer
  • Accurately tag and track guest fish from drop off to pick up of final product
  • Receiving/identifying species Pacific fish and utilizing forms to record accurately.
  • Monitoring guest catch to ensure within DFO regulations, communicate with guides/guests.
  • Fillet, portion, trim and prepare fish for processing.
  • Vacuum pack, label, and freeze.
  • Ensure quality control.
  • Ensure chain of custody maintained.
  • Boxing, strapping and preparing transport paperwork.
  • Maintaining plant cleaning and refrigeration logs.
  • Adhere to Sanitation and Food Safety Plan procedures.
