Why We Do What We Do

We started modestly as one small gym in a humble basement studio in New York City’s East Village in 1989 as a welcoming place for a diverse group of people to get fit. While we believe in the power of fitness to improve lives, we also know exercise is hard work and everyone can use a little more motivation. So we’ve fused fitness and entertainment so that we can make serious exercise fun.

We are currently searching for a Fitness Consultant, Kitchener

Reporting to the Health Centre Manager, the Fitness Consultant is responsible for providing members with customised personal training programs, knowledge, motivation and coaching to achieve their personal fitness goals.

What can you expect in this role?

Below are some of the primary responsibilities you will be taking on in this role.

  • Ensures that new Club members are scheduled for initial Kick Off appointment in a timely manner.
  • Schedules and conducts all Kick Off appointments for new members in accordance with set structures, standards and protocols.
  • Schedules Personal Training sessions and/or orientation sessions in a timely manner.
  • Matches Personal Training packages with needs of our members (based on fitness assessment results, equipment, fitness knowledge, experience and goals of our members).
  • Responsible for coordinating payment schedules in accordance with set structures, standards, rates and protocols.
  • Maintains regular contact with Personal Training members to retain and motivate them to meet their health and fitness goals.
  • Stays current on Personal Training, nutrition and fitness strategies, techniques and competitor industry standards, to enhance performance. Accountable for maintaining and upgrading certifications to provide highest levels of service to clients.

What type of experience should you have?

  • Post-Secondary education related to health and fitness industry (Kinesiology or Physical Education) is an asset.
  • Additional certifications or workshops related to health and fitness, sales, marketing and customer service are strongly preferred.
  • 1 plus years of sales experience.
  • Related industry experience is an asset (i.e. retail, hospitality, leisure, fitness, etc.).
  • Current CPR & First Aid are required and must be maintained through employment.
  • Those with personal training experience, a strong customer relations focus and a proven track record in sales are strongly encouraged to apply!
