Det'on Cho Hospitality Group is a dynamic, wholly-owned subsidiary of the Deton Cho Management LP, the economic development organization for the Yellowknives Dene First Nation. The Det'on Cho Hospitality group consists of Bouwa Whee Catering and the Vital Abel Boarding Home and has approximately 200 employees.


The Human Resources Manager is critically important to the success of Det'on Cho Hospitality group which consists of Bouwa Whee Catering and the Vital Abel Boarding Home in the short and long term. We are looking for a confident and experienced Human Resources Manager with a sense of adventure to join our team in Yellowknife. We deliver great food, housekeeping and accommodation management services under some of the world’s most challenging conditions at three of Canada’s premier mines and operate a medical travel facility in Yellowknife. Our medical travel guests fly to Yellowknife from communities around the territory and we ensure they make their appointments and provide them with meals and a place to stay.

The successful candidate will receive the following compensation

  • Reimbursement of up to $3000 for relocation expenses within Canada.

Under the direction of the General Manager, the HR Manager is responsible for the effective management of all aspects of the human resources planning and management of the company. The HR Manager provides leadership and coordination of human resource functions including advising and supporting all divisions in HR related issues; developing and implementing HR plans and strategies; staff training and development; employee evaluation; motivation and teambuilding; pay and employment conditions; development of HR policy and procedures; organizational behaviour; culture management; legal requirements; career development. The Human Resources Manager ensures that the Det'on Cho Hospitality Group resources policy and procedures conform to generally accepted human resource management principles, practices and legal requirements
