What you’ll be doing:

  1. Health & Safety:
  • Work in a safe manner and maintain cleanliness and safety of own work area.
  • Contribute to overall cleanliness and safety of the company by assisting as required.
  • Understand and comply with all applicable health and safety requirements and regulations (i.e. Caframo Health & Safety System.)
  • Comply with all legislative requirements (i.e. WHMIS, OHSA, etc.)
  • Report any hazardous situations to a manager.
  • Participate in company health and safety inspections as required.

  1. Server Infrastructure Support and Maintenance:
  • Monitor usage and uptime to ensure server hardware and software is running reliably.
  • Run server updates and upgrades including security, bios and recommended drivers.
  • Support the Operating System Server(s).
  • Complete all hardware servicing.
  • Contact suppliers for warranty claims.
  • Support the Caframo Virtual Environment and Failover Clusters.
  • Maintain the spares inventory.

  1. End User Support
  • Review and triage all JIRA tickets.
  • Respond and support end user with technical issues relating to systems software/hardware.
  • Support end user training and administer transfers and additions (MAC: Moves/Adds/Changes)
  • Administer and ensure all users have access to their “user profile” including Epicor, active directory, email exchange server, adobe licensing, domain and DNS (internal / external), network licensing, Shop Floor, custom software etc.
  • Maintain email exchange server and Office 356 for structure, access and changes.
  • Maintain the business phone system.

  1. Security Maintenance:
  • Support the security roadmap protocol and deployment.
  • Ensure that updates on all end-point security software are done according to schedule.
  • Ensure internet security training and testing are completed (KnowBe4)
  • Protect information by maintaining with assurance the permissions established by e-filing protocol.
  • Maintain proven and tested methods of restoring data from backup.
  • Design data storage strategies and maintain appropriate backups of all ICT data.
  • Maintain proven and tested disaster recovery plan for all hardware, software and data.
  • Design and implement security strategies and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Stay informed on developing threats and new forms of attack.
  • Make recommendations for new technology to support business processes.

What we require:

  • Degree or Diploma in Information Technology or a related field of study
  • 5 years technical support experience. Experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset.

  • Experience with MS Server 2012 R2 and Linux in a virtualized environment
  • Strong trouble shooting and problem-solving ability
  • Experienced with Active Directory
  • Experience with Epicor ERP an asset
  • Ability to work with and understand VOIP and Powershell
