We are looking for a Knowledge Management Specialist to join our team in Waterloo, Ontario for a 12 month contract. Our ideal candidate is eager to help us improve the flow of knowledge in our organization with creative and innovative approaches to knowledge sharing.

Key activities / responsibilities of the role:

  • Facilitate, promote and foster the growth of our online communities of practice by engaging with stakeholders and reacting to new product releases and trends
  • Regularly meet with community stakeholders to identify knowledge gaps and find effective and efficient ways to resolve them
  • Work to better inter-connect our communities with training materials to promote a culture of continuous learning and personal development
  • Encourage the peer-to-peer sharing of knowledge and the standardized capture and dissemination of knowledge transfers
  • Consult and engage with our authoring teams to ensure a consistent approach to content indexing across all knowledge management and documentation tools, including in our communities
  • Identify, document and enforce best practices and standards in the capture, retention and dissemination of knowledge
  • Identify and implement fresh new ways to communicate news and announcements throughout the organization (e.g. newsletters, blogs)


  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced writing and communication skills
  • Flexible, focused and independent, but always willing to lend a hand
  • Familiarity with Office 365
  • Familiarity with Livelink/Content Server and Confluence
  • Basic working knowledge of HTML
  • Adaptable and quick to learn new tools, technologies and software


  • Degree or diploma in technical writing, communications or equivalent; or
  • 2-5 years of experience in managing content, fostering knowledge sharing or facilitating communities of practice
