Job Description

As an instrument specialist on our team, your role will be to provide guidance and expertise to our engineering teams and clients across Canada for various engineering phases, up to commissioning, at client sites. You may be asked to assist in preparing proposals, executing engineering tasks and preparing equipment lists, and to contribute to technological options and proposed solutions, from design to implementation.

• Select instruments and valves for small and major projects
• Lead and mentor younger instrumentation technicians
• Interface with process and mechanical teams to ensure alignment between disciplines
• Contribute to the development of P&IDs to ensure proper representation of instruments and valves
• Identify value added / cost savings opportunities
• Establish procurement strategies
• Lead and review the preparation of technical data sheets, and size and select instruments (analytics, flow, pressure, level, temperature and control valves)
• Carry out studies and draft technical and other specifications (fabrication, construction, purchasing)
• Provide technical assistance during construction work (configuration and calibration)
• Verify instrument installation and configuration at the work site

Requirements :

• College diploma in industrial electronics, automation, instrumentation, robotics or any other relevant education
• 10 years+ of experience in instrumentation and valves selection
• Good knowledge of the instruments and valves market in Western Canada
• Available for travel to client sites
• Asset: Experience in consulting services
• Asset: Experience as a product specialist for a vendor
