We are actively seeking an Intern, Assistant Property Administrator to join our Property Operations Team at our Broadway Tech property. Reporting into the Property Manager, the Intern will be responsible for providing best in class customer service, management and support to the greater of the property management team. They will participate in a variety of tasks, such as accounts receivables, lease reviews, preparing tenant correspondences, as well as database maintenance.


  • Establish strong working relationship with tenants, staff and contractors, while maintaining excellence in customer service and performance
  • Assist in the supervision of service contracts including janitorial, waste removal, window cleaning and security
  • Meet with tenants to educate and promote the properties Recycling and Organics Programs
  • Assist in the tendering of building services contracts to ensure prudent, cost effective practices are constantly observed, scope of services are captured within the contract, and make recommendations for approval by the Property Manager.
  • Conduct regular building inspections, documenting any deficiencies via a work order. Work orders to be traced to ensure the deficiency is rectified in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that tenant enquiries are responded to promptly and that a high standard of rapport and communication with tenants is consistently achieved.
  • Assist with financial reporting including reviewing monthly income statements and reporting on any variances, reviewing capital expenditure to ensure accurate forecasting of cashflow and assist the Property manager on the preparation of quarterly reports.
  • Assist with the development, submission and administration of the annual operating budget
  • Assist in the execution and supervision of tenant events including environmental awareness sessions, tenant appreciation events & life safety training
  • Prepare content to be included in monthly tenant newsletters
  • Work cooperatively with Leasing to support achievement of budgeted leasing projections
  • Other duties as required

Experience and Qualifications

  • Education: Enrolled in post secondary institutional program such as Business / Real Estate / Urban Development or Property Management along with other relevant programs
  • Experience: Customer Service Experience. Previous Property Management experience is an asset.
  • Computer Skills: Intermediate to Advanced skills in MS Word, Excel and Outlook; knowledge of JD Edwards
  • Organizational/Multi-Task Skills: Ability to allocate one’s time effectively and manage tight deadlines; ability to work under pressure and achieve quality results; ability to handle multiple demands and competing priorities; adapt to new ideas and constant changes; able to cope with changing client needs and deliver successful results within agreed upon time frames; detail orientated and accurate
  • Decision Making Skills: Identify and analyze problems for reference to supervisor on non-routine issues. Resolve issues in a timely manner on daily responsibilities.
  • Relationship Skills: Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both oral and written; able to develop and sustain cooperative working relationships with senior management, contractors, tenants and the public; self-motivated and professional
