Job Description

You’ll be part of our team specialized in industrial building mechanics. You’ll work with world-class experts and be exposed to a variety of situations to develop your technical skills in ventilation, heating, air conditioning, pumping and fire protection, compressed air, dust collection and energy recovery for various industrial applications.

Your role as an HVAC Technician Intern will be to participate in engineering, selecting technology and executing projects in the mining, energy and heavy industry sectors. You’ll play a technical role in the mandates assigned to you.

By joining our team, you’ll be required to:

  • Participate in conceptual studies for projects.
  • Help design plans, specifications and details based on guidelines provided by an engineer or a senior technician.
  • Perform 3D modelling of HVAC systems using Revit and AutoCAD software.
  • Perform 2D layout of HVAC systems.
  • Perform design calculations (pressure loss, air balance, heat load, etc.).
  • Select HVAC system components (dampers, fans, air conditioning units, pumps, exchangers, etc.).
  • Prepare material lists and bills of lading in accordance with codes, standards, drawings and other established procedures in compliance with BBA’s quality system requirements.
  • Assist more experienced staff with the technical aspects of more complex tasks.
  • Perform technical information surveys.
  • Develop internal calculation tools and instructions.

  • At least two years in a college program in Building Mechanics¸
  • Knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD applications
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Asset: experience or internship in the industrial sector or in consulting engineering
  • Asset: ASP Construction card
  • Asset: bilingual (English and French)
