Junior Mechanical Designer

Your future role on our team

BBA has an exciting opportunity for a junior mechanical designer at our Calgary office. This role involves delivering technical expertise and mechanical design requirements within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. This role will provide you with a wide range of challenging projects. As an integral part of the project team, you’ll work closely with clients, engineers and other designers to exceed client expectations.

• Design and prepare 2D and 3D drawings.
• Prepare plant layouts, general arrangement drawings, simple diagrams, dimensional calculations and fabricationdrawings for platework and mechanical equipment.
• Participate actively in developing innovative solutions.
• Perform other technical duties to support project execution.
• Control criteria or standards specific to a given project.
• Help more experienced colleagues with more complex tasks.
• Participate in worksite surveys, when required.

Overview of certifications and job requirements

• College diploma in mechanical design or relevant work experience
  
• Two or more years of mechanical design experience in the industrial sector
• Knowledge of current computer applications such as the MS Office Suite
• Mandatory: knowledge of AutoCAD and Solidworks
• Asset: Bilingual (English, French)
