We are looking for a self-motivated temporary Labourer to join us in the exciting work we do in ATCO Electricity. You will be part of our Operations team that is led by the Supervisor. You will be responsible for ensuring a safe work environment while performing a wide variety of entry level field activities required in the construction, operation and maintenance of distribution lines, structures and related equipment. The successful candidate will be expected to display an increasing acceptance of responsibility throughout, with a desire and ability to enroll in a Powerline Technician Apprenticeship program.

What You Get to Do:

  • Operate light delivery vehicles transporting materials and supplies
  • Load and unload materials from trucks
  • Cleaning, washing, testing or preparing materials for field use
  • Tool inspection, preparation and maintenance
  • Clean-up site and equipment
  • Perform general janitorial work in Company occupied facilities
  • Filing, basic data entry and general administrative work
  • May require lifting and carrying
  • May require work outside
  • Other duties as required


  • Completion of Grade 12 or GED equivalent
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • A valid Class 5 vehicle operator’s license with a satisfactory driver’s abstract
  • Final candidates will be required to undergo a security clearance check and pre-employment testing, which includes alcohol and drug screening.

Desirable Skills

  • Customer service orientation, interpersonal skills, and team focus coupled with the ability to follow instruction and procedures
  • The candidate will be expected to display an increasing acceptance of responsibility throughout and a desire to enroll in the Powerline Technician apprenticeship
  • Adheres to applicable safety and environmental standards and regulations.
