Lead System Engineer- Cloud Gaming - 101701

The Role:

The Person:

As a lead systems engineer (LSE) you work across functional teams and drive output through technical excellence and influence. Your track record of accomplishment will enable you to prioritize, drive, and communicate throughout the organization and externally to key partners. Successful LSEs generate consensus, drive technical decisions, and maintain an even keel. We anticipate providing an opportunity where you will learn as you go and while also mentoring.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with cross organization teams to ensure Silicon/SW/Platform/etc. features are in sync, development is supported, and validation is planned
  • Set technical direction for the test activities, including bring up of silicon & boards
  • Defect prioritization and root-cause resolution plans
  • Owner for System specification that includes:
  • Platforms definitions: Validation, test, and reference platforms
  • Covers all system features to be validated
  • Test requirements for all system features
  • System test plans that include
  • Functions within Bios, Drivers, Silicon, IO subsystems, power, thermal, OS certification
  • Multi-functional groups (Performance, Power, and Manufacturing etc.)
  • External and Customer co-validation teams
  • Platform configurations – system BOM definition
  • Sign-off responsibility for Synchronized releases for internal and external delivery
  • GPU, boards, options, OS, VBIOS, drivers
  • Test execution and debug leadership across AMD
  • Assure that all responsibilities are clearly defined across all relevant and participating organizations

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with GPU bring-up, debug and validation
  • Knowledge of DC-GPU design and use-cases in large datacenters
  • Prior experience with server system design and validation
  • Knowledge of general Computer Architecture concepts and silicon features
  • Microsoft Operating Systems, Linux Operating Systems, virtualization software (VMware, Ubuntu, et al), and validation/certification processes for each of these environments
  • Experience with system component compatibility and stress testing
  • Familiar with high performance server IO adapters, drivers
  • MS Office & MS Project tool suites
  • Familiar with scripting languages and programming (Python/Ruby)

Academic Credentials:

Bachelor/Master’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering preferred
