We are looking for a Lifecycle Marketing Manager to join our team and our mission to simplify labor management and improve performance for restaurants everywhere. The Lifecycle Marketing Manager will be responsible for building and implementing 7shifts Lifecycle Marketing Strategy across all channels (Email, Push, In App, SMS and more). Our ideal candidate is someone who is creative, loves working with people, has a solid technical background with HTML, experience with multi-variant testing, experience successfully running large scale campaigns, solid communication skills, and keen attention to detail. Experience with Intercom is a plus.


The Product team at 7shifts is data driven and results oriented. We are seeking a talented individual who has strong analytical skills and is comfortable with data. Reporting to the Director of Product, you will play a critical role in growing and scaling 7shifts' client base.


The position can be based in New York, Saskatoon or Toronto, and is remote-friendly.

What you’ll do:

  • Lifecycle strategy
    • Work to develop the strategy and priorities for one or more areas of our customer lifecycle (Conversion, Activation, Expansion, Retention and Advocacy).
    • Create engaging, creative and personalized campaigns which meet the goals of your lifecycle marketing strategy and area of focus
    • Identify opportunities to leverage different channels (push, sms, email, inapp, CSM touch and more) and triggers (product usage, inactivity, paywalls and more) to contact our customers when and where it makes sense
    • Partner with the rest of the marketing team to develop compelling and consistent messaging that reflect the 7shifts brand
  • Growth
    • Develop hypotheses and execute MVTs in collaboration with other internal stakeholders to ensure we learn constantly and spend our time automating the most effective activities to drive growth
  • Operations management
    • Responsible for meeting targets for responsible channels
    • Develop & update reporting that tracks KPIs and business metrics on a regular basis to uncover actionable trends, insights and forecasts
    • Responsible for campaign execution including building of audiences, links, segmentation, and content
    • Responsible for email list health, management, and maintenance
  • Data analysis
    • Develop and provide channel performance insights to further refine and improve communication to customers
    • Partner with data analysts to improve reporting capabilities and team insights
    • Increase organization-wide visibility and understanding of email/push/sms changes and their impact on acquisition and MRR
    • Use reporting to uncover opportunities, trends, and customer insights that can be used by the wider organization


What you have:

  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience working on email or growth marketing and with a focus on conversion, activation, expansion, retention or advocacy
  • Demonstrated understanding of digital customer journeys and lifecycle
  • Exceptional writing skill (samples may be requested)
  • Analytical mindset and creative thinker to strategize and execute on A/B tests within campaigns
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with Product, Design, and Engineering
  • Great communication skills
  • Passion for exploring and testing new performance marketing channels
  • Experience with email reporting, regulations, and list management
  • Demonstrate ability to interpret in-depth analyses and uncover actionable insight
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, collaborative, high-growth startup environment
  • Fundamental experience with marketing ESPs
  • Fundamental graphic design skills and understanding


It’d be even cooler if you had:

  • Experience with Intercom
  • Experience building responsive HTML templates
  • SQL and HTML experience a plus
  • Experience with a startup environment
