Job title: Manager – Construction Management

Job Description:

Reporting to the BBA project manager, the manager for Construction Management establishes and manages controls, tools and construction management procedures. Where necessary, the incumbent coordinates contract administration and applies the quality assurance program. Other tasks include maintaining harmonious work relations and ensuring health and safety guidelines are applied at assigned work sites, both remotely and at client sites. The incumbent may also be called upon to contribute to our preoperational verifications and commissioning efforts. He or she will also work closely with our engineering teams to guide the design, so it systematically reflects constructability.

As a team member, you will be required to:


• Work with operations management as well as management for the project execution group to develop a corporate strategy for construction management and constructability.
• Actively participate in deploying the corporate strategy for constructability.
• Be involved in engineering projects and studies to bring a construction perspective at the project kick-off and throughout the design and procurement process.
• Formally implement and lead constructability reviews within our project team.
• Review and ensure compliance with construction management processes and procedures.
• Prepare and implement construction management plans and strategies.
• Ensure that construction management objectives are clearly defined and communicated to the entire firm to create a provincial, and eventually national, strategy.
• Prepare the team organizational chart for construction management; participate in recruiting and assigning the appropriate personnel for client projects.
• Make sure the health and safety program is implemented and applied, as well as the environment management plan, where necessary.
• Ensure the quality assurance program is applied.
• Ensure and facilitate work site relations for the various roles potentially held by BBA teams.
• Follow up on contract amendments with administrators.
• Delegate and monitor construction site administration.
• Prepare the construction management portion of the monthly report.
• Develop a construction and project execution strategy for draft-design studies.
• Establish and maintain an atmosphere conducive to the application of ethical and professional practices in business relations with suppliers and contractors.
• Serve as a coach for your work team.

Requirements:

• University degree in Engineering or Administration
• At least 15 years of relevant site experience
• Experience in working on engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) projects
• Proficiency with the MS Office Suite (Outlook, MS Project, Excel)
• Available to work on sites on an ad hoc basis when projects are being carried out.
• Bilingual (English and French) spoken and written
• Asset: experience with turnkey projects (EPC)
