Position Details

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF JOB:
Reporting to the General Manager of EH&S, the Manager, EH&S Field Support leads a distributed team of EH&S field advisors to implement, sustain and continually improve standardized company EH&S programs and processes applicable to operations, construction and office settings. This role is accountable to partner with key business stakeholders to deliver EH&S programs and processes and work to advance our EH&S culture across the business.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:
· Lead a distributed team of EH&S personnel and partner with line leadership to implement, verify and continuously improve standardized, fit for purpose EH&S programs
· Assign, supervise and develop field resources as appropriate to ensure adequate EH&S support and due diligence throughout operations and construction activities
· Monitor the effectiveness of EH&S policies, programs and procedures and compliance with applicable regulations, and recommend changes to these programs as necessary in consultation with business areas and other stakeholders
· Partner with line leadership to ensure various regulatory requirements are managed and appropriately followed (e.g. OHS, AER, etc)
· Ensure emergency response plans and required site security protocols are implemented and fully functioning including training, exercises and auditing
· Partner with line leadership to support incident investigations as required and ensure they are conducted in a timely and thorough manner with appropriate corrective actions and lessons learned
· Act as a field liaison with key regulators for inspections. Meetings, etc
· Lead and partner on various EH&S initiatives and projects
· Develop and maintain strong customer focused relationships with key stakeholders
· Perform other duties as assigned

KEY SKILLS:
· Ability to provide leadership, management and direction to geographically and functionally diverse teams of EH&S personnel
· Effective comprehension, interpretation and communication of applicable EH&S programs and government regulations
· Has broad experience and exposure to the energy industry and related ancillary operations including construction projects, to develop EH&S standards, programs and process that support the business operations
· Strong background in incident investigation, root cause identification and action management
· Experience with Operational Management Systems and related enterprise software systems
· Experience in Process Safety Management and operational work processes
· Ability to identify unusual, significant, or frequent safety or security concerns and provide recommendations for changes to existing standards, programs and procedures
· Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing the EH&S strategy, goals and objectives aligned with Company and business areas strategic and tactical plans
· Able to adjust to rapidly changing business conditions and anticipate and seize opportunities to implement practices which add value
· Can relate well to people, builds appropriate rapport, expresses ideas clearly and actively listens to issues of others in a manner that elicits co-operation and support; builds strong relationships across all locations.
· Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and a strong aptitude for adopting new technology.

QUALIFICATIONS:
· Postsecondary diploma/degree in OH&S or a related discipline is preferred
· Professional accreditations (CRSP, CHSC, etc.) also preferred
· Minimum 10 years experience in EH&S field
· Minimum 5 years experience in a supervisory role
· Valid Class 5 Drivers licence

WORKING CONDITIONS:
· Working in outdoor conditions may be required.
· Frequent travel will be required with potential on call requirements.
