In this exciting leadership role, you will take ownership of building and defining payment and card strategies of the future, such as mobile payments and digitizing our plastic card products. You will provide leadership to your team, defining the strategy and overseeing steady-state operations of our Point of Sale (POS), proprietary card production, and payment card solutions and systems for our Petro-Canada’s network of Retail and Wholesale locations.

You will use your expertise to:

  • Provide strong overall team leadership to directly affect the success of strategic business implementations and process improvements, leveraging system functionality involving the customer experience
  • Develop the Payment and Card Strategy roadmap(s) with the aim of executing strategies that contribute to our competitive advantage and sustained growth
  • Act as the relationship owner for POS and payment equipment and card production vendors, payment card issuers, processors and acquirers (e.g. Visa, Mastercard, AMEX, Banks, Moneris, Bulloch, Apple etc.)
  • Partner with, translate business requirements and troubleshoot issues with our Operations, Marketing and IT teams to ensure our payment and card systems maintain a high level of reliability
  • Ensure customer data security with ownership of Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance and audit requirements and the Interac Annual Compliance program, as well as securing current-state compliance
  • Lead Customer Data Privacy risk identification and mitigation efforts
  • Stay current with new trends and vendors in the payments space and support the development of new technologies and innovations
  • Oversee the operations and systems that facilitate in-house card production

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • 10 years of overall work experience, including proven leadership
  • Strong experience and expertise in payment and card technologies and processes
  • Product management experience
  • A University degree in Business or a related discipline
  • A strategic and curious mindset with an expert ability to develop and execute strategies, set goals and objectives, and bring them to fruition
  • Strong ability to manage change and adapt to rapidly changing market trends and business priorities
  • Strong ability to manage both operational and strategic initiatives
  • The ability to exhibit independent judgment and initiative, and have a continuous improvement attitude
  • Alignment with our values of: safety above all else, respect, raise the bar, commitments matter and do the right thing

Preference for:

  • Been involved in developing B2C and B2B payment programs, including exposure to consumer data cyber security
  • Product Team experience
  • Agile project management experience
  • Change management experience
  • An understanding of Marketing, Retail and B2B channels

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other meaningful information:

  • You will work out of our Downstream head office in Mississauga, located at 2489 North Sheridan Way, with occasional need to work in our Oakville Office.
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs SAP:IND
