Launched 50 years ago out of Canada’s Okanagan Valley, KF has grown to specialize in a wide range of aviation services including maintenance and modifications, air cargo operations, military pilot training and aircraft leasing. At our facility in Southport, Manitoba, we support the Royal Canadian Airforce (RCAF) by providing state-of-the-art Pilot training.

JOB OVERVIEW

The Quality Assurance (QA) Manager reports to the Site Manager and is responsible for monitoring, reporting, and tracking corrective actions on all aspects of the Quality Program as per the CFTS contract. They provide the Site Manager with the information necessary to effectively manage and deliver the CFTS Contract. The QA Manager requires independent decision making and non-standard problem solving, planning, and organizing.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The QA Manager position is responsible for the following key areas:

• Development and maintenance of the Quality Program to include:
o Quality Manual
o Risk Management framework
o Development and employment of the company software program
o Root cause analysis
o Continuous Improvement program
o Use and training for the CITIS (Contractor Integrated Technical Information Service) software solution
• Supervise and lead the Quality Auditors
• Establish and manage a ‘Monitoring and Performance Reporting System’ to evaluate service delivery directly against the Statement of Work (SOW)
• Ensure that training is provided to Allied Wings and Department of National Defence (DND) personnel
• Ensure employees’ compliance with company policies and procedures
• Maintain uniformity with the Safety Management System (SMS) plan and DND General Safety program requirements
• Participate in audits, inspections and internal reviews as required
• Possess a complete understanding of KF Aerospace Defence Programs documentation requirements and apply that understanding in the following areas:
o Ensure the maintenance of all contract changes
o Maintain historical records for internal publications
o Retain and safeguard documents pertaining to audits


REQUIRED CERTIFICATION, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE or SKILLS

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing quality control programs in similar sized operations in the past 15 years
• Minimum 10 years overall related work experience
• Demonstrated experience with the ISO 9001 system
• Able to obtain and maintain a Public Works and Government Services Secret Clearance
• Advanced computer skills in MS Office programs
• Able to travel within Canada on short notice
• Consistently demonstrate a higher level of competency in the following areas:
o Sound decision making with company policies and procedures
o Leadership and management skills
o Strong problem solving and follow up ability
o Urgency and accuracy
o Organizational skills
o Communication, both written and verbal
• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or Business Administration an asset
• Knowledge of aviation/military terminology an asset
