JOB OVERVIEW

Reporting to the VP Maintenance and Engineering, the Supply Chain (SC) Manager is responsible for the strategic direction, professional leadership, development, execution, quality and sustainability of all Supply Chain functions in support of KF Aircraft Maintenance Operations (AMO). The position has 5 direct reports: Procurement & Repairs Supervisor, Inventory Management Supervisor, Warehouse and Logistics Supervisor, YHM Supply Chain Supervisor (KF Ontario Facility) and the Trade Compliance & Customs Specialist. In addition, the position has 40 indirect reports.

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITY

The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for the following:

Management

  • Managing systems, processes and functions of Procurement, Repairs, Sales, Logistics, Inventory Management and Customs & Trade Compliance
  • Developing, managing and oversight of internal (KF) and external (Supplier) inventory management processes, maximizing process effectiveness and reducing administrative costs
  • Preparing, managing, and concluding appropriate supplier competitions to meet specific and ongoing commodity-based requirements
  • Preparing and negotiating strategic supply agreements with key vendors/suppliers

Leadership

  • Collaborating with MRO Managers to ensure business needs are met, processes are followed, and customer service is provided.
  • Leadership, guidance, development, and mentorship of Supervisors, within the Supply Chain, with a focus on development and execution of best practices in support of MRO operations.
  • Promoting a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality.

Finance

  • Ensuring effective oversight of company spend as defined in the Corporate Financial Delegation of Authority
  • Oversight of assigned spend limits, to designated staff, ensuring adherence to company financial controls
  • Management and oversight of SC Department annual budget
  • Ensuring strict compliance to company Procurement policies & guidelines

Process & Compliance

  • Developing, reviewing, and maintaining Supply Chain policies and procedures, ensuring the Supply Chain Process Manual is revised and current
  • Ensuring the effectiveness of all Supply Chain functions i.a.w Quality Assurance standards, government regulations and KF policies
  • Ensuring Supply Chain documentation meets TC and KF Quality Assurance requirements
  • Ensuring Transport Canada (TC) and ISO compliance and maintaining high standards of operational effectiveness
  • Enforcement and support of the KF corporate policies
  • Identifying, initiating, and recommending solutions to quality assurance issues/concerns through designated channels
  • Ensuring effective material control practices and standards are maintained
  • Ensuring effective tool control and calibration systems and processes are maintained
  • Monitoring the accuracy of defined metrics and providing feedback to stakeholders (PowerBi)
  • Ensuring effective use of the Company ERP system to achieve optimal production performance

Business Relations

  • Developing and managing strong and professional vendor/supplier relationships supporting KF Supply Chain strategies; includes attending major trade shows and conferences
  • Representing Supply Chain on Business Development bid submissions for future contracts
  • Maintaining freight forwarder relationships to ensure delivery standards are achieved
  • Management and oversight of outside sales of aircraft parts/material

Other duties, as assigned by the VP Maintenance & Engineering

REQUIRED CERTIFICATION, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE or SKILLS

  • 10+ years experience in a Leadership role within Supply Chain Management (aviation experience preferred) with a proven ability to competently perform all specific accountabilities
  • Supply Chain accreditation or post-secondary education and diploma in a recognized SC program (SCMP, CSCP, CPIM, CPSM, PLOG, etc.) an asset
  • Must be familiar with Procurement guidelines, Warehouse & Logistics operations, Inventory Management guiding principles and Customs & Trade Compliance requirements (import and export of goods)
  • Materials forecasting experience an asset in maximizing volume discounts with key partners
  • Overall advanced computer skills and proven experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
  • Familiarization with ISO 2015 Std Principles for Management an asset
  • Familiarization with WHMIS 2015 an asset
  • Experience as a people leader in developing and coaching teams in a fast paced, ever-evolving environment
  • Self-motivated leader with the ability to implement positive change
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across functional teams within an organization
  • Excellent change management skills
  • Proactive problem solving and advanced trouble shooting skills
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills at all levels
  • Must be able to obtain controlled Goods Security Assessment Clearance
  • Must be able to obtain e a Public Works Government of Canada Security Clearance
