Manager - Technology Transformation (Strategy & Client-Side Program Delivery)


As a Technology Transformation professional, you'll work with business leaders to define and deliver business transformations, leveraging enabling technology in conjunction with operating model, business process, organizational and other changes to create value for our clients. The opportunity

We currently are seeking for an experienced Manager in our Technology Transformation team, to focus on technology strategy to enable business value creation and on client-side program delivery, to realize the value. Our Technology Consulting & Transformation team is focused on helping clients leverage technology to create business value, improve business performance, enable business growth and scalability, enable superior customer and employee experiences, and enable operational efficiency and other strategic priorities while managing risk.

Your key responsibilities

As a Manager, an important part of your role will be to actively establish, maintain and strengthen internal and external relationships. You'll also identify potential business opportunities for EY within existing engagements, and share these with your team members as appropriate. Similarly, you'll manage projects, anticipating and identifying risks within engagements and sharing any issues with senior members of the team. As an influential member of the team, you'll help to create a positive learning culture, coach and counsel junior team members and help them to develop.

  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of technology strategy and technology-enabled value creation concepts including developing and aligning with clients on:
    • technology strategies
    • business transformation business cases & roadmaps
    • creating business value / enabling new business models and operating models through IT
    • business architecture, solution architecture and information architectures
    • vendor and package selection
    • IT Governance
    • digital disruption and innovation
    • IT diligence for mergers and acquisitions
    • IT synergy analysis and IT-enabled business synergy analysis for mergers and acquisitions
  • Provide client-side program and project management leadership and support for major (often $10M+) technology and technology-enabled business transformation programs
  • Deliver quality services. Value and model excellent client service by establishing goals and implementation plans to achieve high quality deliverables within expected timeframes. Monitor progress, manage risk and keep key stakeholders are kept informed about progress and expected outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with client management. Focus on deliverables and client business priorities. Manage expectations of service and scope. Understand the client's industry and recognize key performance drivers and business trends.
  • Develop people. Provide constructive on-the-job feedback/training. Foster an innovative and team-oriented work environment. Coach younger team members and support their career development.
  • Demonstrate high level of technical and professional knowledge and quickly assimilate new knowledge. Keep up-to-date with current developments and trends in consulting services capabilities and industry knowledge. Get involved in the development of points of view and market visibility opportunities.
  • Generate new business opportunities. Understand Ernst & Young and its service lines and actively assess/present ways to serve clients. Develop long-term client relationships and networks. Develop relationships with other Ernst & Young team members across all practices to serve client needs.

To qualify for the role you must have

  • An undergraduate degree and/or relevant professional designation
  • Experience in the delivery of a variety of technology strategy, value creation and/or client-side program delivery projects
  • Experience managing staff on multiple projects and providing direction to team members
  • A passion for coaching and mentoring
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and presentation (including workshop) skills
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
  • An ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • A high level of motivation, strong work ethic and self-starting attitude
  • An ability to think outside of the box and thrive on new challenges
  • At the Manager level, a minimum of 5 years’ experience with a consulting firm offering technology strategy and/or client-side program delivery services

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • A proven track record in supporting all stages of the business development cycle for large pursuits, with significant client interaction at all stages
  • Experience in developing deep, lasting client relationships
  • A willingness to travel to meet client needs (when it is safe)
