BBA is seeking an engineer with combined experience in the following fields: air quality and emissions, industrial ventilation, dust control, gas cleaning, energy efficiency, combustion, decarbonization and GHGs.


By joining our team, you will participate in engineering mandates that involve air quality, environmental compliance and GHG measurements. Your role will be to oversee various engineering phases, perform calculations, prepare technical reports and participate in factory measurement work. As such, you may be asked to help prepare proposals, technological choices and solutions proposed to clients. The incumbent will also be asked to work on projects for the Mechanical department where the air quality team works. Mechanical projects will typically be related to energy efficiency, combustion, and implementing dust collection and industrial air emission control solutions.

The incumbent will be asked to:

  • Support the growth of a team of dynamic professionals composed of engineers, scientists and technologists working in the industrial air emissions sector.
  • Obtain environmental permits and approvals for Québec and other Canadian regulatory authorities.
  • Prepare proposals.
  • Supervise modelling studies of atmospheric emission dispersion.
  • Assess and select air emission control equipment.
  • Propose solutions for managing greenhouse gases and other pollutants.
  • Draft technical reports and perform engineering calculations.
  • Oversee site work.
  • Participate in Mechanical department projects such as energy efficiency, combustion, implementing dust collection solutions and controlling industrial air emissions.
  • Manage projects to ensure technical quality and financial performance.
  • Maintain relationships with clients and ensure technical discussions.
  • Develop business and marketing, with the goal of developing the BBA team’s diversity and productivity.
  • Promote BBA expertise to a variety of industrial sector markets.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
  • Over 10 years of experience, mainly in industrial ventilation, dust collection or air purification
  • Experience in the heavy industry sector (mining, petrochemicals, energy, etc.)
  • Ability to prepare technical documents
  • Bilingual (English and French) spoken and written
  • Available for occasional work at our client sites or offices in Québec and across Canada
  • Knowledge of air emission and air quality regulations
  • Willingness to develop in a hybrid mechanical/process/environment mode
  • Knowledge of energy efficiency, combustion, industrial ventilation and dust control
  • Asset: climate change knowledge (GHG calculations, climate resilience, decarbonization)
