Job Description

Our Mechanical Department has an opportunity for a junior Mechanical Designer to support the delivery of technical expertise and mechanical design requirements within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. This role will provide the successful candidate a wide range of challenging projects

The Mechanical Designer will be an integral part of the project team and will work closely with clients, engineers and other designers to exceed the expectations of our customers. The Designer can expect to:

  • Design and prepare 2D drawings;
  • Prepare simple diagrams, complete routine dimensional calculations and final drawings from simple diagrams for mechanical equipment, Process Flow Diagram, Process & Instrument Diagram and Electrical Single-Line Diagram;
  • Participate actively in the development of innovative solutions;
  • Perform other technical duties to support project execution;
  • Control criteria or standards specific to a given project;
  • Help work colleagues who have more experience in more complex tasks;
  • Participate, when so required, in worksite surveys.

Work Schedule:

37.5 hours


  • College Diploma in mechanical design or relevant working experience
  • Up to 3 years of mechanical design experience in the industrial sector
  • Knowledge of current computer applications such as the MS Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Acrobat Reader
  • Asset: Knowledge of AutoCAD and other CAD applications
  • Asset: Electrical/automation drafting experience
  • Asset: Co-op experience
  • Asset: Bilingualism (English, French)
