Description


We’re seeking a motivated team member to build and develop a team specialized in heavy mechanics for hydroelectric power plants and hydraulic structures.

Supported by a top-notch team in electrical engineering and turbine-generator groups, the candidate will be asked to help implement a growth strategy, to develop and maintain close ties with clients, to build a talented team and to deliver high-quality projects. Join BBA in its massive ongoing efforts to rejuvenate North American hydroelectric assets.

Technical component

  • Prepare plans and specifications and perform technical studies.
  • Revise technical work of less-experienced engineers.
  • Perform regular surveys of technical information in power plants.
  • Assign and review the work of junior engineers, technicians and drafters assigned to projects, and assess technical scope.
  • Determine, plan and organize client needs.
  • Occasionally supervise site and plant work
  • Occasionally, participate in FATs

Management component

  • Assume the responsibilities of a project leader or manager, including ensuring that all assigned deliverables are produced in compliance with quality requirements, on time and on budget.
  • Maintain synergy with the project team.
  • Help build a first-class team by recruiting the best talent in the field.
  • Ensure your team’s technical development.

Business development component

  • Participate in expanding the market development strategy
  • Develop and maintain client relationships
  • Establish client needs and identify new needs throughout the project
  • Lead the preparation of technical and commercial proposals for qualified clients.

Requirements

  • University degree in mechanical engineering and member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec
  • Around ten years of relevant experience
  • Experience in the mechanical design of heavy mechanical equipment for hydroelectric power plants and related hydraulic structures (spillways, debris screens, etc.).
  • Available for short-term assignments at client offices or sites across Canada
  • Experience in the following fields: inspection, condition assessment, performance monitoring, preventive maintenance and repair of heavy mechanical equipment for hydroelectric power plants and related hydraulic structures (spillways, debris screens, etc.)
  • Experience in participating in multidisciplinary projects
  • Good communication and report writing skills
  • Experience in projects carried out for Québec public utilities
  • Asset: Bilingual, English / French
