Job Description :
We are looking for an experienced and adaptable Mechanical Engineer to support the delivery of a wide range of hydroelectric and heavy industrial plant design projects, as well as power generation, industrial plant rehabilitation, industrial piping and HVAC.
The Mechanical Engineer will play a key role in engineering projects, from front end-studies through field implementation. As part of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team, this role will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of exceptional technical quality, the development of new business opportunities and nurturing the professional development of members of the Mechanical team.
The Mechanical Engineer can expect to: • Be a key member of small to major brownfield/greenfield projects involving turbines, bearings, piping/penstock, HVAC, mills, conveyors • Be involved in industries such as power generation, renewables and waterworks • Participate in site inspections, quality assessments and oversee testing • Establish key client relationships and actively participate in business development opportunities that align with BBA’s strategic vision for growth and ongoing diversification in the Western region • Provide mentorship and coaching of junior engineers and designers, actively sharing knowledge and supporting the enhancement of skills within the team

Requirements • University degree in Mechanical Engineering with a preference for post-graduate • Seven to 12 years of relevant engineering experience in the industrial, energy and mining sectors with a preference for 5 years in consulting • Must be a registered P.Eng • Proficiency in Technical Writing • Understanding of design codes: ASME, CSA, API, BC Building Code, AWWA, ASHRAE • Knowledge of AutoCAD, SolidWorks, SmartPlant, TRACE 700, AFT Fathom, CAESAR II, ANSYS • Available for site work and short-term assignments (mandatory) and long-term assignments (asset) to client sites • Valid driver’s license
