Job Description

Your role as a designer will consist of preparing plans, specifications and other technical documents in various sectors but mostly in the mining and oil and gas fields. You will also provide quality service and maintain positive relationships with internal clients by contributing to projects in the industrial mechanical engineering sector.

More specifically, you’ll be asked to:

  • Prepare mechanical design, 3D modelling and 2D drawings for mandates related to heavy mechanics, conveyors, pumping systems, mechanical assembly, manufacturing, etc
  • Actively participate in seeking out innovative solutions
  • Carry out other technical duties to assist with projects
  • Support the development of project schedules, budgets and monitoring
  • Support in determining costs and quantities in accordance with client needs
  • Prepare detailed engineering drawings, plans and design specifications
  • Support design teams at the Labrador City, Abitibi, Toronto and Vancouver offices
  • Participate in site surveys
  • Proficient with different sofwatres such as SmartPlant, SolidWorks and CadWorks

Work Schedule: 37.5



Requirements

  • College diploma in Mechanical Engineering, vocational diploma in Building Design or Industrial Design or any other combination of relevant experience
  • Atleast 10 Experience in mechanical engineering in one of the following sectors: mining and metals, energy, oil, chemicals and biofuels
  • Knowledge of SolidWorks, AutoCAD and SmartPlant tools
  • Proficient with computer-assisted drawing
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office Suite
  • Ability to travel and do site work, where required
  • Available to travel to our offices or client sites
  • Asset : Bilingual (English and French)
