Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and adaptable Mechanical Mining Engineer with a background in mine process plants to support the delivery of a wide range of projects.

Experience should range from front end-studies and condition assessments through detailed design and field implementation. As part of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team, this role to ensuring the delivery of exceptional technical quality to clients.

The Mechanical Engineer - Mining can expect to:

  • Be a key member of small to major brownfield/greenfield projects bulk material handling, crushing and grinding circuits, flotation circuits, pump selection and design, piping and overall process plant layout
  • Participate in site inspections, quality assessments and oversee testing
  • Establish key client relationships and actively participate in business development opportunities that align with BBA’s strategic vision for growth and ongoing diversification in the Western region


  • Solid knowledge of one or more of the following fields: mining process equipment, piping, stress analysis, dust collection, conveyors and bulk material handling, pump selection and design, and HVAC
  • Interpreting PFD’s and process design criteria from process engineering, preparing plant layouts, mechanical equipment selection and validation and pump sizing
  • Collaborative approach to finding innovative solutions to project needs
  • High performing achiever who strives to deliver, can adapt to change and rebound from setbacks
  • Excellent communication skills; able to express ideas and expectations clearly, active listener, open to suggestions and feedback
  • An ongoing learner who seeks out opportunities for challenge and development while coaching others
  • Team player
  • Strong safety awareness


  • University degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 4 to 8 years of relevant engineering experience in the mining sector with a preference for experience in consulting
  • Registered P.Eng.
  • Proficiency in technical writing
  • Understanding of design codes
  • Available for site work and short-term assignments (mandatory) and long-term assignments (asset) to client sites
  • Valid driver’s license
