Description

L3 Technologies MAS, located in Mirabel (QC), is a subsidiary of L3Harris Technologies, Inc.

As Mechanical Systems technologist at L3 MAS you will:

Carrie out modification designs and mechanical systems repairs on military aircraft (Canadian and Australian F/A-18 Hornet), as well as, reviews and updates maintenance schedules and plans.

To achieve this, you will be called upon to:

Identify and gather information on design;
Design, on CATIA V5 software, modifications and structural repairs or mechanical systems, as well as new structures;
Carry out detailed designs;
Maintain the design during manufacturing and installation of concept;
Review and update maintenance schedules and plans;
Initiate and/or review configuration change requests;
Initiate and/or approve changes to technical publications;
Provide technical support to DND operating units;
Provide technical support to L3 MAS technicians and engineers;
Carry out the design in accordance with the client’s needs, civil standards (FAR, AWM), military (MIL-STD or others) and/or corporate standards in effect, as well as safety, environmental and ergonomic standards; and
Responsible for major structural repair projects, according to the candidate’s experience.

Qualifications

Technologist diploma or equivalent military training and experience in aeronautics;
Experience in the Military as Mechanical Technician an asset;
(10) ten years experience in aeronautics or equivalent;
Knowledge of following software: CATIA V4 et V5, CADRA, CCD and MS Office;
Experience in a production environment;
Knowledge of computing environments UNIX and PC an asset;
Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision;
Knowledge of F-18 mechanical systems is a major asset;
Knowledge of DRMIS an asset;
Knowledge of military airworthiness regulations an asset;
Must be able to obtain a Canadian Industrial Security Clearance to SECRET level as soon as possible;
Ability to write reports in English;
Bilingualism (French and English) an asset.

Operational requirements :

Must be eligible for registration to the Controlled Goods Program;
Must be eligible to obtaining and maintaining the government of Canada’s “Reliability” status and Level 2 (Secret) security clearance;
Location not accessible via public transportation, car required.
