POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting directly to the Manager, Game Presentation, the Motion Graphic Designer will be responsible for the creation of all motion graphics for all Abbotsford Canucks game at the Abbotsford Centre.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

(Other duties may be assigned as required)

  • Conceptualize and design game presentation motion graphics for activations, crowd engagement & fan experience
  • Review and revise third party corporate sponsorship assets
  • Work quickly and with a high attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
  • Create, maintain & organize production files
  • Communicate effectively from first draft to final sign-off and production approvals
  • Collaborate with team members and contractors to ensure consistent and cohesive visual style
  • Providing video producers with motion graphic assets for the creation of in game video content
  • Examples of deliverables include but are not limited to:
    • Matchup Animations for Each Game
    • Replay Wipes
    • Generic Game Content (Power Play, Warm Up, Overtime, etc.)
    • National Anthem Graphics
    • Themed Graphics for Specific Events
    • In-Game Sizzle Graphics and Crowd Pumpers
    • Design of Lower Third Graphics

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post-secondary degree or related industry experience in Computer Animation, Motion Graphic Design or a related field
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite: After Effects, Illustrator & Photoshop
  • Comfortable working with 2D/3D animation approaches and techniques
  • A strong creative mindset and the ability to conceptualize and execute out of the box design ideas
  • Proven track record in foundational visual design disciplines: composition, color, layout, typography
  • Demonstrated exceptional organization, coordination, and attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Passionate about a career in the sports and entertainment industry
  • Knowledge of the sport of hockey
  • Must be available to events which may include nights, weekends, and select holidays
