At FCT, a Software Developer plays a key role in the development, installation, testing, and maintenance of software systems in order to help our business be more efficient and provide better service in the industry. A Software Developer also participates in requirements gathering and software design.


HERE’S HOW YOU’LL CONTRIBUTE:

  • Participate in the design of software solutions based on identified needs of the business unit and collaborate with the architecture team to ensure suitable design, patterns, and tools are used.

  • Develop software solutions to resolve business problems according to provided specifications independently or as part of a team of developers.

  • Develop automated unit test suites to test software changes and to ensure they fulfill requirements provided. Collaborate with the quality assurance team and system owners on integration testing of new software.

  • Develop robust and repeatable IBM ODM deployment processes.

  • Collaborate with business partners and business analyst team in order to develop and provide feedback on proposed business functionality.

  • Set up and customize the Business Object Model (BOM) and vocabulary for rule authoring

  • Implement the Execution Object Model (XOM) that enables rule execution

  • Orchestrate rule execution through rule flows

  • Author rule artifacts to implement business policies

  • Debug business rule applications to ensure that the implemented business logic is error-free

  • Set up and customize testing and simulation for business users

  • Package and deploy decision services to test and production environments

  • Integrate decision services for managed execution within an enterprise environment

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with existing ODM & Business Automation Workflow (BAW) solutions in order to restore normal operations in a timely manner.

HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • Design code and document rules implementation in the IBM ODM platform

  • Minimum 5 years of IBM ODM development experience.

  • Web development using JavaScript frameworks, HTML5, jQuery, JSON and IBM Business Automation Workflow (BAW).

  • Good understanding ODM DevOps practices

  • Experience in an application development and related infrastructure management role especially with a modern business rules engine ideally IBM ODM Proficient in Java language coding and object-oriented concepts with experience of JEE coding with usage of different open source frameworks

  • Work with Business rules project and support implementation of regular business releases of new rules as packaged by Strategy team Provide time barred warranty support for new rules deployed to Production environment Lead the DevOps pipeline and Site Reliability Engineering effort related to ODM infrastructure.

  • Knowledge of Extensible Markup Language (XML)

  • Knowledge of the REST API and RESTful architecture

  • Experience with cloud computing platforms such as Windows Azure a big plus
