What You’ll Do:

Your role will be to process payroll for North American employees while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. You will work with a third-party payroll provider, ensuring our reports are submitted to them on a timely basis and records are up to date. You will assist in ensuring we are in compliance with legislative requirements surrounding the payroll process and will oversee the submission of documents such as ROE’s, T4’s and W2’s. In this fast-growing company, your role will encompass a variety of tasks in the payroll and accounting functions including budgeting, reconciling accounts, performing monthly closing duties, and assisting in the calculations for exercising options and remitting withholding tax.

Some of the typical responsibilities will include:

  • Prepare and process payroll in accordance with company policies and legislative requirements for multiple companies in North America and Europe and record in the accounting system
  • Generate reports as required by regulatory bodies including ROE’s, T4’s and W2’s
  • Produce and reconcile payroll reports, generate budgets, and compare budget to actual
  • Collaborate with PEOs for onboarding, offboarding, and transferring payments to international employees
  • Perform payroll-related tasks as part of quarterly and annual financial statement compilation, audits, and tax returns
  • Other payroll and accounting tasks as required

Minimum qualifications:

  • Completion of diploma or certificate in accounting, bookkeeping, or a related field
  • At least 3 years of experience in a payroll focused role
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft software, especially Excel
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary
  • Eager to learn and to adapt to a high-growth environment

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working with Payworks, ADP or other payroll system
  • PCP/CPM certification
  • Working with international subsidiaries, specifically the US and Europe
