Specific Job Description

  • Manages, and directs a cross functional team, often at a business areas production engine repair facility, that re-manufactures products and subassemblies that are delivered to the customer
  • Responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the engine production to include quality, cost and schedule performance; budgets, facilities, capital planning and execution, safety and environmental performance; overall program collaboration; employee skill training; interface with national regulatory agencies; interface with client quality representatives and compliance with provincial and federal regulations
  • Responsible for setting the sites operations strategy and mission to meet internal and external customer requirements
  • Develops and maintains productive relationships with all functional organizations, business leaders and unions, where applicable, while communicating clear expectations and achieving goals
  • Manages all production planning, manpower and scheduling to meet delivery and forecasts. Prepares, manages and is accountable for the annual budget for the production operations
  • Interfaces with the local community as the face of the company, as requested
  • Represents the company with local and provincial government officials and organizations on matters involving economic development.
Scope / Overview:
  • The incumbent will be responsible for all aspects of the shop floor production and engine repair requirements as aligned with the business objectives and commitments
  • Will coordinate the work, in conjunction with his direct leadership team, of the production operation employees to ensure delivery of products to the schedule, cost and quality levels contracted with our clients and expected by the enterprise
  • Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions.
Key Functions and Accountabilities:
  • Accountable for departmental budget development and control in line with overall business commitments and corporate objectives
  • Accountable for aligning resources to accomplish the required work in accordance with customer orders and business commitment
  • Work with the senior team on strategic direction of the enterprise
  • Drive the implementation and follow-up of all Quality, Training, 6S and ES&H policies and initiatives
  • Lead, support and drive Lean Six Sigma and Culture of Accountability initiatives
  • Lead required initiatives to resolve non-conformance and audit findings in the required delays
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to direct reports
  • Develop and provide support as required for the development of short term and long-range business plans
  • Deliver and/or exceed on KPI metrics (e.g. ES&H, Quality, TAT, Productivity, Cost etc)
  • Provide support to Accounting team as required

Required skills, qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor degree in Business/ Engineering or equivalent industry experience
  • 10+ years relevant experience in an aviation/aerospace or MRO industry
  • Leadership and proven supervision capabilities
  • Initiative and creativity – Results-oriented
  • Strong computer skills, Microsoft Office suite: Excel, Access
  • Six Sigma/Lean Training a strong asset
  • Fluent in French & English
  • Integrity, respect, honesty and Judgement
  • Leadership – team management, Impact and Influence
  • Ability to summarize, Organizational planning and Problem solver
  • Capacity to delegate, Awareness of controls and Priority Management
