Warehouse Manager

Position Summary

The Production & Warehouse Manager is responsible for managing the daily operations of production and the warehouse. The role will plan, organize, control, and direct production activities while also oversee warehouse and inventory management to ensure objectives and deliverables are met. The Production & Warehouse Manager will promote continuous improvement and enhance procedures to ensure that production and warehouse processes are functioning effectively to exceed targets for quality, time, and efficiency.

Responsibilities and Duties

Production Management

• Establish production priorities for manufacturing products to meet demand
• Manage the production floor through the coordination and execution of weekly priorities
• Deliver high-quality products by enforcing quality standards and developing ongoing and continuous improvement
• Review production and operational needs and resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to maintain optimal costs and prevent operational delays
• Keep clear and concise tracking of orders and ensure rush orders are expedited as needed
• Identify and report issues with daily and weekly production
• Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures for production

Warehouse Management

• Design and implement warehouse inventory processes ensuring warehouse management systems and maintenance procedures are in place
• Oversee warehouse administration including creating invoices, answering vendor/client inquiries, and verifying order preparation
• Effectively manage the constant flow of product in and out of the warehouse facility
• Build and maintain rapport with vendors, suppliers, and customers
• Maintain daily invoices and shipment records to ascertain the state of all inventory
• Ensure production and warehouse supplies and materials are adequately stocked
• Oversee the full shipping and receiving function ensuring all inventory and products match quality level standards
• Forecast and plan the warehouse budget, continually reviewing the budget against operations to ensure variances are addressed and action is taken

Staff Management

• Manage issues and concerns among team members and provide guidance to improve team members’ performance and productivity
• Analyze staffing requirements and ensure operational efficiency to meet production plans and mobilize staff to align with business needs. Manage the onboarding process of new hires
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment by implementing health and safety procedures for staff and ensure compliance to company guidelines and health and safety legislation

Qualifications

• Post- Secondary Education in Supply Chain, Operations Management, or similar program
• 5 years of production/manufacturing and warehouse experience in a similar role
• Strong people management experience
• Proven ability to direct and coordinate operations and achieve results
• Experience with implementing continuous improvement systems and methods
• Knowledge of production and inventory management best practices
• Experience using SAP is strongly preferred; experience using an ERP and/or warehouse management system is an asset
• Proficiency in computer programs including Microsoft Office Suite
• Collaborative management style with the ability to coach, motivate, and develop staff
• Superior ability to plan and prioritize with a sense of urgency, creativity, and flexibility
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines

• Certified to operate forklift / cherry picker lift
• Ability to lift 40 lbs
