Description

The Proposal Advisor reports to the Senior Proposal Advisor and provides support to business lines and proposal leaders in drafting and revising complex technical proposals to obtain new contracts. Using superior writing skills, the proposal advisor translates technical information, résumés and the firm’s project experience into concise, relevant, compelling and professionally formatted documents.

  • Review client requests (RFP, RFQ, RFI, etc.) to determine submission requirements with the proposal leaders.
  • Coordinate the preparation of proposals involving many Canadian and international stakeholders to optimize the efficiency, compliance and quality of proposals.
  • Collaborate in writing clear and compelling responses in both English and Spanish (technical sections, project experience, team experience, etc.).
  • Maximize the re-use of content in the reference library by translating existing texts into Spanish, where required.
  • Interview subject matter experts to gather or verify information.
  • Compile and manage proposal master files while ensuring strict version control.
  • Format proposals in compliance with client and internal branding guidelines.
  • Ensure high-quality proposals are delivered on time.
  • Participate in preparing PowerPoint documents required in both English and Spanish by the proposal teams.
  • Coordinate support services, as required (e.g., graphics, administrative support) throughout the proposal lifecycle.
  • Update corporate documents required for proposals (proposal templates, résumés, expertise sheets, statement of qualifications, project sheets, etc.).
  • Provide administrative support for team activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business Administration, Journalism, Literature, Translation or other related studies
  • At least five years of relevant experience (in a range of fields) or any combination of relevant education and experience
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish)
  • Highly proficient in using MS Office, in particular MS Word and MS PowerPoint
  • Willing and able to work overtime (occasionally on short notice)
  • Asset: Proficiency with Visio and Adobe Creative Suite
