The Opportunity
A critical part of the Provider Management team, the Provider Services Specialist is responsible for supporting our Provider Claims Portal, Provider Registry Network and other tools, systems, and processes key to the success of the team. They also serve as the subject-matter expert on all healthcare provider pressing issues and trends and compel others to act in offering exceptional experiences for our provider community and are innovative in their approach to solving problems. They will demonstrate an ongoing commitment in incorporating Medavie’s values everyday and in all their activities by being responsive, innovative, and accountable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fostering and maintaining critical relationships with Medavie Blue Cross’s provider community and external clients, as well as internal departments and other Blue Cross Plans;
  • Coordinating process improvement initiatives designed to improve the performance and efficiency of the Provider Management team;
  • Developing project plans and researching industry trends on best practices associated with the management of electronic claims portals and provider registration activities;
  • Aptly respond to escalations, system disruptions and other impacts to our provider community with timely and transparent communications;

Required Competencies

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in healthcare or group insurance industry;
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field is preferred;
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills is required; hands-on experience with reporting tools (Tableau, Power BI) would be considered an asset;
  • Preference will be given to candidates who have displayed aptitudes with project coordination, developing training material and/or coaching users on adopting new technologies;
  • Professional bilingualism is required (French and English).
