RECRUITER / HR GENERALIST JOB POSTING

Nasittuq Corporation provides facilities management contract services to the Canadian Government in support of operations of Canadian Forces Station Alert (CFS Alert), a signals intelligence intercept facility. Nasittuq is currently seeking a candidate for the position of Recruiter/HR Generalist to work from our contract management office located in Ottawa, ON.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the recruitment process including sourcing, screening, and interviewing
  • Ensure a smooth and welcoming arrival and onboarding for all new employees into the organization
  • With a solutions-oriented attitude, trouble shoot day-to-day employee issues with a focus on service, consistency, compliance and positivity
  • Implement human resource programs by providing human resources services, including benefits, training and development, records management, employee relations, retention programs and workforce planning
  • Support management with advice, coaching and communication in all areas of Human Resources
  • Ensure all employee files are accurate, up-to-date, compliant and complete
  • Support ethics and compliance initiatives including arranging training plans, communications, oversight of records, adherence to policy, etc.
  • Ensure employees follow all policies and procedures in accordance with company guidelines
  • Timely completion of bi-weekly timecards for employees, Advice to Payroll and other associated payroll forms

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a relevant post-secondary degree or diploma, a focus on Human Resources is preferred
  • RPR and/or CHRP designation would be a definite asset
  • 3-5 years in a generalist role
  • Experience required using ADP Workforce Now and Oracle HR
  • Self-motivated, professional and flexible, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience working with a diverse company
  • Superb communication skills
  • A detail-oriented approach to documentation
  • The ability to build rapport quickly with team members
  • Excellent organization, problem-solving, and communication skills and an ability to respond to shifting priorities, policies and legislations while meeting deadlines
  • MS Office experience required in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
