Reliability Engineering Superintendent

Domtar Inc., Dryden Operations, is currently seeking an individual to join the Dryden Team. A progressive community set between Winnipeg and Thunder Bay, Dryden offers excellent medical, educational, and recreational facilities.

Reporting to the Maintenance & Engineering Manager your role will be to effectively lead and manage the reliability of mill assets, equipment, and components to maximize predictive and preventative maintenance and minimize corrective/reactive maintenance.

More specifically, you will:

  • Lead the effective implementation and maintenance of Domtars robust ECCM system and asset management strategies.
  • Ensure the efficient and cost-effective management of the overall reliability processes, programs, and activities to ensure maximum equipment reliability/availability and asset preservation.
  • Ensure that health & safety consideration are paramount in the day-today execution of the work.
  • Use continuous improvement and root cause analysis techniques to assess and drive improvements to the reliability of all assets and equipment.
  • Develop, coach and mentor the reliability team.
  • Develop and implement the Reliability Dashboard with leading and lagging KPIs and Metrics.

Your profile:

  • You hold a degree in an engineering discipline, preferably mechanical or have a combination of related education and experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years reliability experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in the pulp & paper industry considered an asset.
  • You have a safety-oriented mindset with the desire to enforce and follow mill safety and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrated success in leading change and driving improvement.
  • Demonstrated planning, organizing and problem-solving ability.
  • You possess sound interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a team environment to engage and collaborate with other departments.
  • You must have strong oral and written communication skills, including technical writing, budget preparation and presentations.
  • You possess excellent computer skills with computer-based maintenance software (SAP), MS Office and scheduling software.
