Senior Accounts Payables Clerk

Artemis goes hunting! We are currently looking for a Senior Accounts Payables Clerk for one of our clients located in Montreal. This position is a permanent position offering a lot of stability in a young and growing company.

Reporting to the Director of Operational Accounting, the Senior Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for the full-cycle accounts payable process including examining, verifying and reconciling payables for the company’s accounts and vendors. They will perform a range of general clerical and accounting functions, providing support to the Finance department.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reconciliations of Credit cards, expense reports & balance of customer statements
  • Review invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
  • Prioritize invoices according to cash discount potential and payment terms
  • Respond to all vendor inquiries
  • Reconcile vendor statements and research/correct discrepancies
  • Ensure prepayments and deposits are booked in a timely manner
  • Research, resolve and communicate discrepancies or outstanding balances on vendor accounts
  • Use of Excel in budgeting, finance processes and reconciliation of payments
  • Analyzing expenses and timing of expenses compared to budgets
  • Implement and maintain systems, files, procedures, and policies, including accounts payable functions to ensure adherence to company policies
  • Manage monthly closing and reconciliation of accounts payable reports
  • Maintain accounts payable files and year-end files
  • Constant interdepartmental communication helping each other troubleshoot and accomplish deadlines
  • Supervise and mentor junior clerks

REQUIREMENTS

  • Diploma of vocational studies in Accounting
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in accounts payable accounting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience working with SAP, an asset
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in both English and French
