Purpose

The Senior Analyst, Procurement Insights & Analytics provides analytical expertise, including data mining, data modeling, data cleansing, database maintenance, custom reporting and visualizations and other analytical support services. This role is a key member of the Procurement Insights and Analytics team providing deep analysis and technical expertise to enable the leadership team to meet business targets and strategic objectives.

Accountabilities

  • Populates and maintains complex databases and applies analytical techniques and tools to analyze and interpret a wide range of supplier and organizational information and options to support procurement planning and decision making.
  • Writes complex SQL queries to consolidate and cleanse spend data on a monthly basis. Able to blend data from various systems using SQL, create one standard reporting format for all data.
  • Uses PowerBi to create custom automated reports from various types of data such as spend, contracts, invoices, etc., build multiple custom views for different types of audience.
  • Uses Python, VBA, PowerAutomate to automate manual and repeatable processes, contributing to the overall process efficiencies.
  • Uses cloud technologies such as MS Azure to migrate local databases to online SQL server on Azure.
  • An expert with MS Excel features such as PowerQuery and PowerPivot, able to write complex excel formulas and VBA code.
  • Experience with DAX code and M code for use with data querying and manipulation within Microsoft legacy systems.
  • Experience with MS Access databases, able to create queries to append and update data across multiple tables.
  • Experience with SharePoint Online and SharePoint designer, able to manage SharePoint lists and create custom workflows.
  • Envisions, develops, and deploys tools to streamline processes to gain efficiencies and to improve key metrics.
  • Pro-active and a self-dependent individual who can manage multiple projects at a time with limited supervision, able to prioritize and balance workload, ready to go the extra mile to support projects without compromising on quality.
  • Communicates results of analysis and models through documentations to internal/external audiences, and effectively manages the interface with relevant stakeholders including Internal Audit and Regulators (as required).
  • Understands how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in management, finance, or related field; master (MA or MSc) in business or related field preferred
  • 3 + years’ previous experience in data analytics, project management or financial services roles
