Forsite is looking for a Senior Forest Analyst (Edmonton) with solid communication skills to support our clients in Western Canada. The successful applicant will become a key team member supporting the delivery of strategic planning and landbase analysis projects. The position requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience, a post-secondary education with a natural resource management focus and professional forester accreditation (or eligibility).

Working within Forsite’s Resource Management and Technology business area you will lead and work with project teams to provide forestry business knowledge and technical analysis that offers cost effective, innovative, and meaningful solutions. You will have exceptional problem solving, written and oral communications skills with an ability to translate complex analysis results into practical knowledge that supports informed decision making.
Potential project types include forest management planning, timber supply analysis, cumulative effects analysis, landbase reporting for timber and non-timber resource values, carbon reporting / management strategies, economic viability and operability, inventory projections, growth and yield analysis, strategic silviculture investment analyses, etc.
The ideal candidate will have a background in operational forestry, strategic planning, timber supply, growth & yield tools, and GIS analysis. You must have excellent data manipulation skills using databases, geodatabases, and scripting languages (SQL, Python, etc).
You will be expected to produce clear written and verbal communications to document project inputs and explain project results.
