Based in Goose Bay, Newfoundland and Labrador, Air Borealis is looking for experienced senior leaders to carry the airline’s success forward. The ideal candidates are true people leaders striving to build on an already existing foundation and amazing team rooted in Labrador, to foster our growth and continue to make positive impact on our operation’s success and with the communities we are privileged to serve. With a passion for drive and a background in senior management, we are seeking leaders with strong operational experience. Having worked within the aviation industry would be considered an asset. Specific duties and responsibilities of these leadership roles include:

• Direct and provide leadership to management and employee base
• Accountable for ensuring financial performance and process of commercial activity
• Continual evaluation and improvements of the commercial operation through direct control over the day-to-day operation, budgetary items and overall strategies while maximizing revenues and ensuring superior overall performance
• Analyze fundamental systems to enhance any necessary improvements
• Develop and implement procedures and policies to ensure exceptional service, rigorous standards, and superior overall performance
• Providing strategic leadership and vision for the organization’s business development function, including Request for Proposals (RFP) activities
• Providing oversight on project and program management within Air Borealis, from inception to completion
• Leading the development and implementation of new business strategies that create or improve processes and partnerships
• Providing leadership and guidance to a diverse group of team members of Business Development, Sales, Charter Operation and Commercial Operation
• Researching and participating in industry associations and events to tell the Air Borealis story and establish new relationships
• Creating and delivering high-level progress reports to the core executive team
• Other duties as assigned

To ensure our new senior leaders are ideally positioned to achieve long-term success at Air Borealis, we’re looking for Directors with considerable experience in overseeing the accountability of a large complex operation, adept at motivating a team of aviation professionals, and confident in dealing with community and business leaders in Labrador. Comfortable in a leadership position while equally maintaining a willingness to learn from those around them, candidates should be both accustomed to delivering in high-pressure situations and conscious of the high profile associated with this position in the region.

Other qualifications for this role include:

• A minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in a senior management role, preferably in an aviation, transportation, or manufacturing industry
• Excellent networking skills, recognizing the importance of building relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
• A sponge for knowledge – eager to learn about the company and industry from all levels
• Proven experience in managing RFP processes, identifying new opportunities, and motivating a team to execute
• A flexible attitude with the ability to adapt to changing timelines and priorities
• A natural leader with the ability to coach and guide team members to accomplish ambitious goals and initiatives
• Communication skills that are second to none, with proven experience in written proposals and presentations
• The ability to travel as required
