Applications are now being accepted for a permanent, full-time position of Senior Manager, Marketing & Communications located either in Whitehorse, YT.

The Senior Manager, Marketing & Communications leads a team in the development, implementation and analysis of marketing, communications and public relations campaigns. The incumbent manages a creative services team (3) and an Account Management team (3). The team supports the residential marketing, business marketing and corporate communications functions of Northwestel.

This position manages all digital marketing related aspects of a given portfolio of services. person must work effectively within communications & marketing and across the organization to define, develop, champion and implement new opportunities.

Specific Accountabilities:

  1. Lead, engage, coach and develop the team of marketing and communications professionals This also includes the full performance management cycle including annual goals and competency development.
  2. Manage the overall brand and visual identity of the organization.
  3. Provide leadership and direction in the activities of research, development, and implementation of marketing and communications campaigns.
  4. Effectively build bridges and involve internal Northwestel resources and departments (e.g., operations, sales, engineering, customer services, marketing), as may be required to support effective communications.
  5. Actively lead and contribute to the overall communications and marketing planning cycle.
  6. Campaign Execution: work cross-functionally with Product Management on Offer and Pricing, customer intelligence, Channels and Marketing Communications teams to bring campaigns to market.
  7. Establish the marketing and communications team as a trusted centre of excellence in customer and stakeholder experiences.
  8. Manager the relationship with creative and advertising agencies.
  9. Develop, own and maintain a strong sense of market knowledge, customer knowledge and competitive knowledge. Establish a methodology/program that engages the company in this process and creates knowledge transfer to maximize decision making at all levels.
  10. Campaign Analysis: lead weekly, ad hoc and post mortem campaign results analysis.
