Purpose:


Contributes to the overall success of the IB Consumer & Small Business team ensuring risk and internal control reporting, insights and metrics are minimizing identified risk exposures and in line with our stated Appetite, Statements, and conducted in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures and sound risk management practices.


Accountabilities:

  • Leads the development and distribution of executive risk management reports to various Bank’s Risk Committees, including International Banking Risk Culture and Conduct Committee, ensuring completeness, accuracy, timeliness and integrity of information;
  • Responsible for ingesting, organizing and analyzing Sales Conduct Key Risk Indicators and the delivery of clear and concise insights summary on the evolution of these indicators (i.e. monthly Sales Conduct Country Dashboards reporting to local IB senior executives);
  • Monitors monthly key risk indicators and evolution of risk and highlights potential factors affecting the execution of strategic objectives;
  • Responsible for following up with local units on action plans for the indicators that are outside established thresholds and including these updates in monthly reporting;
  • Manages reporting dashboards with both high-level views and detailed drilldown analysis for various groups of internal and external users ensuring a timely and high-quality response;
  • Continuously identifies enhancements and improvements to existing risk management reporting;
  • Responsible for conducting a thorough review and updating various divisional non-financial risk guidelines;
  • Manages and optimizes an inventory of risk data sources. Responsible for compiling, aggregating, testing and validating different data repositories/sources for the risk dashboards ensuring completeness, accuracy, timeliness and integrity of information;
  • Supports the annual divisional strategic planning process by providing risk insights required to set the divisional risk objectives and scorecards with the view of optimizing accountability and alignment to strategic priorities;
  • Supports the annual divisional review process of post-sale KRIs and underlying thresholds limits;
  • Assists different stakeholders and provide subject matter expertise in the implementation of new projects to strengthen the Sales Conduct Framework, (Medallia Text Analytics, Outlier Methodology Model, etc.;
  • Provides local business owners with metrics that contribute to root-cause analysis of risk and sales practice issues.
  • Develops executive risk presentations to communicate progress on focus priorities
  • Actively participate and support IB Consumer & Small Business units with the applicable risk reviews, assessments and testing, by providing subject matter expertise
  • Assists IB Consumer & Small Business units in developing Key Risk Indicators and internal controls for material risks; identifies, recommends and assists IB Consumer & Small Business units with the implementation of preventative measures and internal controls to minimize costs/ damage should a loss occur
  • se with local IB Consumer & Small Business team, including local business owners, internal control functions as well as first and second, and third line of defense partners to source risk information ultimately obtaining the root cause of events to obtain tactical and divisional, efficient resolution;
  • Develops timely and actionable analysis of financial and non-financial key risk indicators and trends across IB Consumer & Small Business units as well as insights on external and internal factors driving results and highlight areas of opportunity;
  • Manages projects and ad hoc analysis supporting risk and internal control initiatives providing creative input, in-depth analysis and innovative thinking

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • The incumbent is required to have a bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Computer Science, Statistics or any related field
  • 5+ years of related experience with data engineering, statistical and modeling knowledge
  • Relevant experience in credit, market, insurance and operational risk is desirable.
  • Experience in Data Warehousing / Data Visualization and programs such as Power BI is required
  • Strong technical skills in Excel, SQL and R, and SharePoint are required
  • Previous experience in Global Risk Management / Compliance would be an asset.
  • Candidates must be willing to travel internationally periodically.
  • Advanced problem solver and analytical thinker, able to work independently through obstacles
  • Excellent business communication. Fluency in Spanish is highly preferred
  • Ability to manage efficiently multiple priorities in order to deliver work under tight deadlines
  • Strong interpretation of data into action items that impact business’ bottom line
