The job involves:

  • Researching, developing, planning, execution and post evaluation of assigned events
  • Researching, creating and executing events that have a focus on driving increased traffic to the property
  • Maintaining detailed files on event activities, progress, status, and post event summary
  • Managing creative concepts, presentations, budget analysis, gift sourcing, menu tasting, community partnerships, contract negotiation and development of private and ticketed events
  • Communication during all events, special projects, and daily procedures
  • Performing office duties related to rules submissions, regulatory submissions, internal control procedures, Associate communication, requests for information or assistance
  • Participating in all areas of event set up, pre and post production work, including set up and tear down of materials as well as the physical handling of goods
  • Working with multiple demands and meeting deadlines , working on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Working safely, and in compliance with OH&S policies and legislation
  • Working independently and as one team that supports and helps one another
  • Flexibility to work extended hours, various shifts and weekends to support a 24/7 operation

The ideal candidate has:

  • Post-secondary education in Event Planning/Special Events or a minimum 2 years of experience in event coordination
  • Experience with catering, procurement of merchandise and services and technical production
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional leadership skills with experience making sound decisions
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Exceptional organizational and problem solving skills with a strong attention to detail
