BCLC’s two offices are located on the traditional, ancestral and unceded lands of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam Indian Band), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Peoples in Vancouver and the Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc territory, situated within the Secwépemc Nation in Kamloops. Our Operations Division manages both provincial & national lottery games as well as instant lotteries through over 3000 retail partners across the province. We provide the gaming technology and set standards, policies & procedures across 37 casino properties in BC, ensuring a high standard of security and integrity.

We also provide online gambling through Playnow.com and our Lotto app including lottery, sports betting, Bingo, Keno, online slots or online casino games and Live Dealer table games where players can choose the online version of their favorite games while connecting with others across the province. Our Operations group is what makes it all happen, through day to day operations, project improvements, sales management, facilities, business intelligence and innovation.

Job Summary:

The Casino Project Specialist role is responsible for the planning, implementation, and delivery of gaming equipment and operationally efficient gaming facilities. This position utilizes expertise in gaming equipment delivery and gaming facility design to focus on the player through gaming equipment layout, gaming signage design, and continuous improvement of speed to market. This role provides leadership to project teams and works closely with Casino & Community Gaming Managers to ensure initiatives are completed in alignment with divisional priorities.

Key Accountabilities:

• Supports department business plans and strategies to ensure the effective, efficient development and execution of gaming equipment implementation and gaming facility construction are achieved in alignment with division strategies.
• Designs gaming facilities and gaming floor layouts, in collaboration with external stakeholders, using a CAD program to ensure the effective and efficient infrastructure of gaming operations.
• Proactively develops and maintains relevant working relationships with internal and external stakeholders including organization project teams, vendors, contractors, and Service Providers in order to effectively resolve all planning and implementation related issues and mitigate risk.
• Evaluates, adapts and develops project timelines in response to department priorities.
• Establishes processes as a subject matter expert to work with internal stakeholders to ensure that planning and implementation is effectively prioritized, within the context of divisional strategies and business priorities.
• Supports the development of and advises on policies, practices and/or procedures related to gaming facility design and operation.
• Draws on extensive technology and gaming equipment knowledge to provide direction and guidance to others, and perform the installation, maintenance, and repairs of technology and gaming equipment as required.
  

Minimum Required Qualifications:
Education and Experience

• Diploma or degree in a related discipline such as project management, process management, business, technology or operations management;
• 3-5 years related experience in a project management environment with at least two years related planning and implementation experience related to gaming equipment;
• Experience in the gaming industry is an asset.
• An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
  

Technical Requirements

• Proven knowledge in technology analysis and project management methodologies;
• Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to motivate project teams;
• Proven experience in developing and maintaining business relationships with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues through the analysis and mitigation of risk;
• Strong influencing and negotiation skills; written and verbal communication skills; problem-solving; analytical thinking/innovation; time management and multi-tasking skills;
• High degree of business acumen with a technology and project management focus;
• Solid comprehension of Gaming criteria under the Criminal Code of Canada would be an asset;
• Solid comprehension of Gaming policies, as defined by the Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch would be an asset.
