Overall job purpose:

The Strategic Advisor, Physician Wellness and Medical Culture (PW&MC) will provide strategic advice and subject matter expertise, develop recommendations and strategies, as well as scope and execute programs, policies, and frameworks to support initiatives and activities related to physician wellness and medical culture.

They will lead the execution of various PW&MC initiatives (e.g., CMA Wellness Support Line, CMA Enterprise funding related to PW&MC). They will also work with other CMA departments, to develop and maintain stakeholder and member relationships, and engagement strategies.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provides strategic advice and content expertise to CMA senior management, elected representatives, and the CMA Enterprise with respect to physician wellness and medical culture.
  • Works closely with the CMA Enterprise Giving team and brings strategic subject matter expertise to projects related to PW&MC. This includes but is but not limited to the inquiry, application, approval, monitoring, supporting relationship management with funding stakeholders, and reporting phases. Also works closely with key enterprise teams who share/own responsibility to bring visibility to program measurement and results.
  • Supports the Senior Director, PW&MC with the Wellness Support Line. This includes contractor and stakeholder management, monthly tracking and reporting. Works closely with external consultant and CMA Insights & Analytics team to develop and maintain a robust evaluation framework.
  • Leads and facilitates a variety of projects across the team to support organizational goals and strategic initiatives, e.g., related to psychological health and safety; quality improvement and health systems change; organizational wellness; workplace and professional culture.
  • Maintains strategic relationships and seeks opportunities to collaborate with stakeholders on endeavours in physician health of mutual interest to the CMA.
  • Leads Working Groups created to guide the development and execution activities (e.g., new frameworks, policy, and advocacy work), including those involving external stakeholders and cross-functional teams within the CMA Enterprise.
  • Contributes to the development and implementation of knowledge translation activities related to physician health initiatives of the CMA.
  • Represents PW&MC at different public events and activities: roundtables, kiosks, conventions, conferences, etc.

  • Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset
  • Position requires flexibility to work overtime and travel/attendance at meetings or events

Education:

  • University degree (Masters’ degree preferred)

Experience:

  • 6-9 years of related professional experience.
