We are looking for a Systems Administrator at our Walker Head Office location in Niagara.

The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the Network and Support Manager, the Systems Administrator is responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of the virtual environment. The successful candidate will also play a primary role in administering our hybrid Exchange environment, managing the Barracuda Cloud Gateway, administering Active directory, performing network folder security modifications, and is responsible for identity and access management for Oracle Fusion and OTM.

Major Responsibilities:

  1. Monitors and maintains the corporate email system – Microsoft Exchange (Hybrid) and Barracuda Cloud Gateway.
  2. Identity and access management (Active Directory, Oracle Fusion and Oracle OTM). Responsible for creating, modifying and decommissioning user accounts.
  3. Responsible for configuration, maintenance and reliable operation of the VMware production and disaster recovery environments.
  4. Manages the Asset and Helpdesk system (Lansweeper) including the development of corporate Knowledgebase.
  5. Assists with activities related to cybersecurity awareness training and phishing campaigns.
  6. Supports the Network Administrator with the implementation of operating system patches for known vulnerabilities in accordance with the corporate patching policy.
  7. Follows helpdesk policies and procedures and provides timely responses to incidents assigned. If necessary, escalates incidents to the appropriate resource for advice and resolution.
  8. Assists team with new acquisition-related activities including setup, configuration and onboarding.
  9. Keeps abreast of the latest professional trade information and security vulnerabilities.

Skills/Knowledge/Experience Required

  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server – DHCP, DNS, File Shares and Group Policy.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Exchange server administration and mail filtering. Experience with Active Directory infrastructure- AD replication/DNS troubleshooting, event log monitoring, OU maintenance, demotion & removal of domain controllers/DNS/DHCP of servers, promoting DCs
  • Advanced knowledge of virtualization – VMware and associated principals.
  • Familiarity with IT security vulnerabilities and risk management.
  • Familiarity with managing roles, users and access within Oracle Fusion and OTM modules.
  • Manage time effectively and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • Must possess exceptional customer service skills and be able to multi-task in a team environment.
  • Ability to provide timely resolution for all end-user requests and root cause analysis for issues.
  • Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English both written and verbally, with key stakeholders, leadership, team members, customers and vendors.

Our ideal candidate will have greater than 3 years of direct work experience in a Systems Administrator role and, at a minimum, a high school diploma.
