This exciting career opportunity at the new Pickering Casino Resort is seeking dynamic individuals with a drive to succeed, strong guest relations and supervisory skills; responsibilities of this role will align with the position of Scheduler, Table Games upon opening of Pickering Casino Resort.

Upon opening and under the general direction of Director, Table Games, this position is responsible for handling day-to-day scheduling focusing on new and existing table games department hires, not limited to other departments. Above all else, must lead by example to create Great Experiences and Memories for all guests and colleagues!

Pickering Casino Resort is slated to open in early 2020 and will feature a number of gaming and dining options, while the second phase will include a full scope of entertainment amenities and hotel offerings. Once complete, the Pickering Casino Resort will include a casino, hotel, entertainment centre, and multiple food outlets, providing an eclectic mix of adventure, culture, cuisine, and entertainment.

The ideal candidate is an energetic professional with proven knowledge, skills and abilities, executing the following in support of the company’s vision, mission and values:

  • Ensuring proper staffing levels by utilizing scheduling software applications to prepare the schedule & liaise with operating departments to ensure accuracy.
  • Tracking new hires by department to organize and register employees for table games training.
  • Maintains and exercises a high degree of discretion and confidentiality in giving out information.
  • Meeting deadlines in a fast-paced, high volume environment.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • You will work under Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) regulations and comply with all applicable laws, policies and procedures, while promoting and maintaining the utmost integrity and a high caliber of customer service.

Successful applicants will demonstrate the following qualifications:

  • A secondary school diploma with related post-secondary education preferred, or comparable working experience in Human Resources
  • Experience of (1) one or more years in using scheduling software (VR is an asset)
  • Strong computer skills working with MS Office programs.
  • Working knowledge of computer software packages and HRIS (JDE is an asset)
  • Ability to deliver excellent guest service at all levels of the organization, and externally.
  • Possess strong organizational, time management and project management skills.
  • Exhibit a high level of professionalism and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Smart Serve Certification or the ability to achieve a Smart Serve Certification.
  • The ability to obtain registration as a Category 2 Gaming Assistant with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario
