Job Description :
The BBA team is seeking a senior project manager with 10 years of experience for its Montréal office who will also take on the role of team leader. The main responsibilities will include managing the existing team, participating in business development, and developing, coordinating and carrying out environmental assessment (EA) projects. Projects will focus on the industrial, energy (hydropower, wind and solar power, biomass), mining and land-use planning sectors.
The incumbent will be expected to:
• Lead and coordinate BBA’s environmental consulting services for the Montréal office. • Develop and implement market strategies to drive growth in the Environment group, in collaboration with the Montréal office director and directors of other key business functions. • Develop relationships with other BBA groups and offices. • Coordinate the work of an assigned team of biology specialists and environmental technicians. • Manage and direct all the steps required to complete projects. • Develop realistic and achievable budgets and schedules. • Supervise field surveys, analyses and studies, sampling and other biological field surveys, draft reports, and give presentations to clients. • Plan and manage meetings both internally, with team members, and externally, with other relevant stakeholders or subcontractors. • Ensure deadlines, schedules and budgets are met and promptly notify the immediate supervisor to renegotiate, where necessary. • Ensure information is shared with the team and that members provide appropriate information that is produced in a timely manner, complete, and properly analyzed and presented. • Applies the firm’s health and safety policy and takes the necessary preventive or corrective measures to perform the work safely; becomes familiar with the firm’s prevention program; and applies specific job directives. • Ensures that all direct reports adhere to and apply all health, safety and environment directives. • Meticulously carries out assigned roles and responsibilities in accordance with established health and safety directives.

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, master's degree in Biology/Environment or related field, or other training deemed equivalent • At least 10 years of relevant experience • Good technical and theoretical knowledge in the following areas: laws and regulations; applications for authorization; environmental impact assessments and report writing • Ability to recognize and understand the ecological and social complexity associated with the consequences of submitted projects • Experience preparing budgets, estimates and schedules • Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written (English and French) • Available for short-term assignments at client sites • Asset: Experience in the energy, industrial and mining sectors
