PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITY:

The Technical Sales Representative is responsible for managing all aspects of the customer relationship, providing sales and technical assistance with end users, contractors, and consultants within assigned region or account list.

KEY POSITION FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop new prospects and interact with international customers to increase sales of products and/or services.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of the Business plans for the assigned area.
  • Engage in technical sales calls in support of the plan.
  • Participate in forecasting sales and budgeting process.
  • Implement sales plans and growth strategies to meet performance requirements.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of market conditions and competitive activities. This includes communicating such information internally and driving corrective strategies or actions.
  • Build and maintain cooperative and credible working relationships with internal and external customers to assure customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare sales proposals and value propositions based on customer needs and expectations.
  • Develop bid strategies and quotations for customers using price and delivery guidelines and use sound business judgment to enhance volume and margins.
  • Prepare and submit sales reports, trip objectives, post trip reports and expense reports on a timely basis.
  • Review and participate in the quotation process supplying pre-quotation sales and marketing intelligence.
  • Trouble shoot customer technical issues and provide options for resolution.
  • Provide accurate and current customer invoice and contact information to accounts receivable.
  • Complete the International Quote Request check list with RFQ requests.
  • Maintain current contact information database for customer base.
  • Demonstrate ethical standards by following the Company Business Conduct policy.

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Engineering Degree or Diploma and 10 years comprehensive oilfield experience, OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • International sales experience with North African region an asset.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of professional presence and the ability to interact successfully across cultures.
  • Strong comprehension of customer expectations and customer service orientation.
  • Strong communication skills in both written and verbal forms.
  • The ability to speak French, Arabic or other languages would be an asset.
  • Self-motivated, good organizational abilities, and able to work independently.
  • Analytical aptitude, ability to think critically and proven problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft applications, 3D Modelling and drafting software
  • Previous sales experience, knowledge of inventory control and familiarity with manufacturing processes are definite assets.
  • Extensive technical knowledge of SFI equipment and competitors.
  • Extensive service related experience from wellhead installations to field valve greasing.
  • International Service Technician qualifications and training would be an asset.
